BTC student looking for HR internship

BHRA members,

One of our Rock County Job Center Dislocated Worker case managers has a client who is a student in Blackhawk Tech’s Human Resources program. As part of the program requirements, this students needs to complete an internship in an HR-related position.

The internship could be for the summer or during the Fall 2010 semester. I am told that this student is very ambitious (to the tune of 24 credit hours during the current semester and doing well in all classes) and would be an excellent addition to any HR department.

Event for employers to learn about JobFit

The Rock County Job Center Employer Relations Team, in conjunction with the Southwest Wisconsin Workforce Development Board, will host an informational luncheon for employers from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 8 at the Job Center, 1900 Center Ave., Janesville.

The lunch will feature a presentation by representatives of Profiles International that will focus on the JobFit system.

JobFit is a web-based tool designed to integrate all aspects of the workforce equation into a virtual, one-stop system resulting in a “fit” for job-seekers and a prescreened, prequalified labor pool for employers in a local, regional or statewide workforce-information database.

Employers who register with JobFit can create three employee "patterns" and compare those results to the database of local job-seekers who have already taken the assessment. This allows employers to match the personality traits of a proven employee to those from the database who may have similar traits. The system also allows employers to view job-seekers' resumes and contact them directly.

All employers who attend this event will learn how to receive three (3) FREE JobFit employee "patterns" -- a $4,500 value!
