HR Generalist
Job Summary
As the Manufacturing Site Human Resources Generalist, you will have the opportunity to lead MPC’s Best Places To Work and World Class Manufacturing initiatives. This position originates and leads Human Resources practices that will provide an employee orientated, high performance culture that emphasizes empowerment, development, quality, productivity and the recruitment of a superior workforce. You will also have the opportunity serve as an internal consultant to the site’s leadership team on Human Resources issues. This position will typically support a single manufacturing site, with occasional support of other remote locations.
Essential Functions:
· Partners with employees and leaders to communicate various Human Resources policies, procedures, laws, standards and government regulations.
· Conducts exit interviews, analyzes data, and makes recommendations to the leadership team for corrective action and continuous improvement.
· Responds to employee relations issues such as employee complaints, harassment allegations, and civil rights complaints. Objectively coach employees and leadership team through routine employee relations matters.
· Coaches and educates site’s leadership team in the correct procedures in hiring and disciplinary procedures.
· Represents site’s leadership team in investigating, answering, and resolving employee relations concerns in a professional, confidential, and timely basis.
· Facilitates site’s focus group and is the catalyst for the implementation of people improvements.
· Owns talent acquisition and retention in the assigned site(s), which includes continuous improvement in employee retention and development.
· Facilitates training / developmental sessions for the workforce. Leads development culture including ongoing personal development.
· Interviews, screens, and recruits job applicants to fill entry level, professional and technical job openings.
· Maintains positive working relationships with employees and adheres to the implementation of company policies.
· Leads Safety First culture.
· Organizes and prioritizes work in a matrix driven environment.
· Participates in Corporate Human Resources project teams as necessary.
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Business or Human Resource Manage
Experience, Knowledge and skills:
· 7+ years Human Resources generalist experience, including employee relations and recruitment, in a manufacturing environment.
· Basic knowledge of employment, salary administration, benefits administration, employee relations and federal, state and local laws relating to the Human Resources function.
· Must have strong communication and operating instincts, good strategic skills, sound business judgment, and the ability to achieve facility goals by leveraging Human Resources expertise.
· Superior interpersonal and communication skills.
· Ability to interface with all levels of management.
· Ability to multi-task.
· Ability to handle confidential information.
· Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Office.
